Cyclists Love Coffee & Cake
Cyclists love coffee and cake. It’s a fact and, I am particularly well qualified to talk about it because I am a cyclist and I love nothing more after a ride than sitting down with a coffee or a cuppa and celebrating my achievement with a wedge of carrot cake!
So; with the Leverhulme Summer Cylce now just over 2 weeks away we thought we’d introduce you to some of the fantastic foodies that will be on hand to ensure that no tummies are left rumbling post ride!
The Elephant Coffee Collective; Billy and the gang are firing up their gorgeous refurbed coffee van and will be based on the roundabout serving coffee and hot drinks throughout the day- perfect if you need to perk yourselves up!
Lovely Bala; What Bala doesn’t know about chocolate frankly isn’t worth knowing- she makes incredible handmade chocolates from her kitchen in Port Sunlight and has been bringing smiles to the faces of families since … if your littlies start to flag the site of a chocolate lollipop will soon give them a second wind and have them hoping back on their bike.
If you’re more of a savoury soul then Andrew at Chip’d is who you need to see – he will be bringing along his magic bike which makes dutch style chips- they’re skin on, salted and twice cooked in pure sunflower oil with a range of vegan friendly sauces- Delicious!
Emma and the team at Boysenberry Catering based in New Ferry can only be described as unashamedly epic. The deli, in New Ferry stocks an absolute shmorgersboard of products sourced from superb North West based businesses. The food they make is out of this world so whether you’re veggie, vegan, GF or a full on carnivore they’ve got you covered.
The Courtyard itself is blessed with two wonderful permanent establishments; The Mouse at Brimstage and the new Brimstage Courtyard Café- Dani and her team at the Mouse will be serving a range of food during the day including their superb Sunday roast but advanced booking is recommended for that one! Aside from that they will be offering soup and some other hot goodies.
Sandie has settled in brilliantly to Brimstage and is looking forward to serving up her range of speedy snacks such as jacket potatoes, panini’s, omelettes and sandwiches- ideal if you’ve got a family to feed- grab yourselves a spot in her courtyard if you can!
